The parade will begin on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue at the Anaheim Street intersection. It will be followed by a multi-cultural celebration at King Park, 1950 Lemon Ave. There will be music, dance performances, and a children's play area. 30 Minute Beach Cleanup
1 Granada Ave., Belmont Shore in Long Beach / Be sure to be signed-in by 10 a.m. to get a raffle ticket. Free parking (when you enter the lot at 1 Granada Ave. after 9:30 a.m.). Free bags, gloves, refreshments from Duthie Power Services, door prizes from the Aquarium of the Pacific and Aroma di Roma, and volunteer credit forms will be available, too!

The 4th Annual Chocolate Festival
Belmont Shore Business Association / Chocoholics rejoice as Second St. is filled with chocolate! Approximately thirty merchants participate in the event by offering tempting chocolate treats. Residents may enter the Homemade Chocolate Dessert Contest, which is judged by local community leaders, business owners, and press. And children ages 5 - 12 can get a face full of chocolate during the Chocolate Pie Eating Contest. 1pm - 4pm. Bulldog Beauty Contest
It's a face everyone can love! French and English Bulldogs are expected to travel to Long Beach for this annual event. The bulldogs will be evaluated (by reigning, real-life beauty queens and other judges) on personality, charm, face, figure, and first impression. This is a contest where gender is no limitation and good looks is no advantage. Costumes are optional. A pet adoption fair and vendor booths begin earlier in the day.
Each dog in the contest donates $15-$25 and several thousand dollars will be raised from entry fees, seating rentals along the runway and vendors space rentals. Free to spectate. Huge metered parking lot or free street parking. Presented by Haute Dogs. Contact Justin Rudd for more info.
